Guarantee & trust
If, despite your involvement, your flexibility and your responsiveness, no offer matching your criteria is proposed to you, Groupe Periplea refunds the deposit you paid, in accordance with its general conditions of sale. To guarantee the quality of our support, phone conversations with our advisers may be recorded.
Your questions before taking the leap
The five questions that come up most often before a departure. If yours is not here, our team will answer it on the phone.
Do I need to speak fluent English?
Whatever your level of English, there is a job that suits your profile. So that your experience is as rewarding as possible, we simply invite you to choose a type of job in line with how comfortable you feel in English today.
If you are at ease speaking, front of house positions in direct contact with American customers, such as reception, table service or retail, will suit you. If you are still a little reserved, back of house positions such as kitchen or housekeeping will let you build confidence step by step, in a more reassuring setting.
In every case, your English will improve naturally as your stay goes on: immersion is the best school there is. What matters is leaving in good conditions, and we will be at your side to help you do so.
What happens if I am not eligible?
Before any enrolment, a conversation with one of our advisers is arranged to confirm that your profile is eligible. This step lets us make sure the programme matches your situation and your expectations. If your profile does not meet the eligibility criteria, the enrolment cannot be completed.
Rest assured: that does not mean your plans for the United States are over. You will simply need to consider another programme. We can then introduce you to the J-1 Intern or Trainee visas, which let you do an internship in the United States linked to your studies or your professional background.
Our aim is to point you towards the solution that best fits your profile.
Is the programme guaranteed?
No, but we place 99 % of our candidates. As soon as they show responsiveness and flexibility about location and type of job, we manage to place almost all of them.
If a candidate is not placed for a reason beyond their control, the sum paid to Groupe Periplea is refunded after review of their file, to check that the absence of placement is not attributable to them.
When should I get started?
The number of places is limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Job offers start to become available around October: the earlier you enrol, the better your chances of placement.
To be sure you can leave from June 2027, we recommend enrolling between September and February.
Is accommodation included?
In 95 % of cases, accommodation is offered by the host company. These are shared flats, with other participants from all over the world: a fine opportunity to build friendships and practise your English every day.
Accommodation is sometimes free of charge, but the company most often asks for a contribution, on average around $150 per week. When the company does not offer accommodation, the salary is raised so that participants can find housing easily.
